Sergey Tyulenev is a professor of Translation Studies at Durham University, the editor of the Routledge Introductions to Translation and Interpreting series, and a member of the advisory boards of the journals Translation and Interpreting Studies and Translation in Society. His academic interests include the social aspects of translation. His publications include Theory of Translation (2004; translated into Chinese and published by the Wuhan University Press); Applying Luhmann to Translation Studies (2011); Translation and the Westernization of Eighteenth-Century Russia (2012); Translation and Society: An Introduction (2014), and Translation in the Public Sphere (2018).
